This is Halloween

This is Halloween Pumpkins scream in the Dead of Night.

So it's nearly Halloween and although I don't like horror films or anything horror really, I do love the cuteness of Halloween, the decorators, fancy dress, treats and Halloween Films aimed at kids. I'm also properly one of the only people to never have a pumpkin spice latte or pumpkin flavoured anything, I know which rock have I been hiding under but I do not want to buy one to then not like it. (as it'll just be a waste I'll just stick to my Hot Chocolates with Whipped Cream YUM)

As a child I hardly ever went trick or treating as my parents see it as begging and do not agree with it but instead we used to go to Halloween Parties or throw one and this was until I was like 11 and then I'd either go stay at friends and watch films and eat sweets or Chill at home with the family. So if you do not agree with it like my parents throw a party for your friends and family (everyone loves a party and with bobbing apples who would not wanna go)

So here are some films that I love that are perfect for a Halloween night in.

Films

My Favourite thing about the whole Autumn/Winter season is that I love to get cosy and watch a good film.

So some of my favourite Halloween films are The Nightmare Before Christmas (which is also one of my favourite films ever and also a Christmas eve tradition), Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, Casper, Haunted Mansion, Harry Potter (this can be watched all year of course but wizards and witches are very much a Halloween thing and in the Philosophers Stone there even have Halloween which looks amazing), Dracula Untold, Hotel Transylvania, The Mummy and of course The Rocky Horror Picture Show (I've seen this in theater for my 19th birthday it was a gift from my best friend and we loved it and planning to go next year when it's back it's been to long)

The only other film i would watch would be The uninvited which is a psychological horror film which I went to go see on my 15th birthday and it's the only horror type film I can watch but it still freaks me out but because it has a twist at the end and you back track through the film makes it more interesting for me.
So grab a Hot Drink (mine would be a killer Hot Chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows yum), some chocolate, a blanket, dim the lights or put some fairy lights on, get comfy and put on your favourite Halloween film whether it be Horror or not.

I also think this is the thing to do on Halloween night if you have small children make it family night. As they do not really have an idea about the whole Trick or Treat ins or outs and stick on Hocus Pocus cause I put a spell on you.

So here are some few things I love and also so cute ideas for parties for you to throw.

Decorations

Now If you decide to throw a party the best place to look for ideas is Pinterest, they have everything from spooky themes for adults/teenagers, Cute for kids or even classy for whoever wants a more adult affair at Halloween. A lot of the kids decorations can be done with the kids so get them involved with the making and decorating and probably make it a tradition as memories that cost nothing or very little will be the ones they remember the most and will want to recreate whenever they have children of their own.
Pinterest is also a great place to look for treat ideas or even drink and food ideas. Also buying Pumpkins and drawing a design whether it be the kids or yourself draws the design but if the kids draw get an adult to cut it out.

Treats

Whether you are buying sweets or making cookies/cakes etc (if you make them once again the kids can get involved) Ghost, Pumpkin Spider, Cobwebs. Witches, Mummys, Black Cats, Skeletons, there are many things you can make into cookie shapes or decorate on top of cupcakes or cakes. Or just simply let the kids have fun and decorate how ever they like. My favourite thing I've seen on Pinterest is this chocolate made bowl (made to look like a pumpkin) that you can add your own sweets and it looks super cute these could be used instead of party bags and just place them in a clear bag. Pumpkin Bowls

Fancy Dress

Now Halloween is known for being able to dress as scary as you'd like or another way according to Mean Girls 'I'm a mouse Durr' And I definetly think the year of using bin bags and bed sheets have gone unless your under ten then go for it I mean there is no point in spending money on an outfit they are going to wear once, so get the bin bags (for witches) bed sheets (for Ghost) and have fun. If I was to go out and do fancy dress I would most likely be Disney Princess of some sort (most likely Ariel she's my favourite and I already have the hair even if you just Disney Bound as the person you still dressed as the person but properly in more comfortable and warm) but just remember dress however the heck you like whether it's scary or just normal fancy dress it doesn't really matter as long as you have fun what else matters.

Games

Their is the classic like bobbing apples, pin the tail on the black cat, etc etc but as long as everyone is up for fun play some of your family favourites but put a Halloween spin on it. A game you can play that I love is called 'Don't Show Keith your Teeth' yes this is from the Celebrity juice and can be very tongue and cheek but this game is very simple in one person 'Keith' picks the subject then whoever plays can't show their teeth, laugh or repeat an answer that has already been given simple enough right? pretty much (but trust me it's harder than you think and funnier I played this with my family last Christmas and it was hilarious and I lost every time although I wasn't always the first out I just didn't win but it is such a fun game to play)

So one of my Family's Favourite game that is really inexpensive is the Mummy game and we would play this on Birthdays, Halloween, Christmas any party really but it's perfect for Halloween. For this game you need to be in pairs and all you need is toilet rolls and you have a set time and one person is the 'Mummy' and the other is the one dressing the 'Mummy' and whoever has the best/perfect Mummy Wins. Cheap Family fun at it's best and we always loved playing it, and would play it multiply times at parties and we even did a parents round because everyone is competitive to get the perfect Mummy and it creates a lot of laughs from just loo roll (toilet paper) who knew?

So enjoy Halloween Whether you are Trick or Treating or Having a Halloween House party or a cosy night in. Enjoy it but Don't forget, Don't Light the Black Flame Candle on all Hallows Eve.

October Favourites

October Favourites

So October has come to an end and for me it's definitely the start of Christmas Shopping and songs but before all that starts here are my favourites for the month of October .

Cinema

Pan

This Films is okay I had high hopes for it and there is a lot they could of done to make it a lot better like it's an okay story about Peter Pan before he was Peter Pan but things that would of made it slightly better would of been having 3 different mermaids not just them all with the same face and James Hook questionable accent and the fight scene at the end needed to be a bit more amazing, they could of done so much more with it and its a shame they didn't.

DVD

Now For DVD's the only one I have purchase is Jurassic World but seen as I've already had this in a favourites for Cinema I won't repeat myself.

TV

Now this is the first time I've added TV to my monthly favourites but I had to for this one show which is Ru Paul's Drag Race now TRU TV started on series 4 and is now on 5 and I couldn't wait so I got netflix so I could watch the other previous series and the end of 5 and I have been hooked I love it. My favourite Queens are definitely the comedy Queens and I love how different they look from drag and how they transform themselves and the whole super bitchyness of the whole thing. I only have love for Mumma Ru and I hope many more are made so i can get my fix I love it.

Beauty/Skincare

Nail polishes

I own Gelish and have been using it for a while but I've given my nails a break for a while so here are some of the colours I have been loving they are:

Essie's: Dress to Kilt and Parka Perfect.
Revlon's: Autumn Spice and Beachy
CND's Vinylux's: Pretty Poison
Barry M's:Chai

These are the perfect Autumn/Winter Colours and I've been loving them the only thing with nail polish chips after a day so having to put a top coat of Gelish to give it staying power is the way forward.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil

This is maybe my favourite night time product I have used. I have a dry patch on my forehead (who knows why?) but this really helps it and sometimes I use this on a sunday when i'm not going anywhere wearing new p jay's and a top knot after using a mask. Now it is a serum so it feels oily on your skin to start with but once you wake the next day it's gone and you are left with soft skin.

Camomile Waterproof Eye and Lip Makeup Remover

This is my favourite makeup remover I have used and I've tried a few but they never seem to take all my eye makeup off (and I use waterproof mascara) but this products take it of perfectly and it is nice and doesn't irritate my eyes. This also takes of my favourite long wear red lipstick off which is stubborn and I've already been repurchasing this a couple of times and I will continue doing so.

Fashion

SimplyBe - Sprinkle of Glitter - Netted Skirt.

I won this Skirt on Twitter but I had be eyeing it up since it went online and had seen it in the shop but they didn't have my size so I was gutted. But this skirt is beautiful and I feel like a Princess in it and the fact that it was POCKETS is amazing, I mean amazingggg like thank you Louise for thou has given me pockets in a skirt it's a miracle and you can't tell they're there or if they have stuff in them and it has rose gold detailing which I Love.

Everything Else

Colgate Max White One Toothpaste and Mouthwash

I've been using this toothpaste and mouthwash for about a month and I say I see a difference they aren't quiet Simon Cowell teeth but they are better then what they were and getting some sort of pearl whites which is fine with me.

Fujifilm Instax Share SP-1 Smart Printer

I bought this early this year with the Instax Camera as well and having the printer makes thing so much easier as all you have to do it use your phone, so you take pictures on your phone normally then when you get home just print them of through the app and of course you need to buy 'shots' but you'd need to pay to get photo's printed out anyway. I think these are also a great little memory to keep as there a perfect size. I keep mine so far pegged on string on my old notice board I've covered and I'll be getting more put up on my Picture wall.

App - Tsum Tsum

I've become a little bit obsessed with this App and because it's the month of Halloween they got a treat for every day you login for 12 days and have done an limited edition Minne and Mickey Tsum Tsum. I'm on Level 26 and I can't stop playing it.

So that is what I have being loving this October and now the start of Christmas scent  are beginning to be used so I'm sure they'll feature in a favourites soon.

Disneyland Paris Tag

Disneyland Paris Tag Questions:

1- When was your first trip and how many times have you been?

My First ever Trip I was one (I clearly can't remember it but i have the Pictures) I've been at least ten times possible more.

2- What Disney hotels have you stayed in? One you haven't stayed in that you'd liked too?

I've Stayed in Hotel Santa Fe, Hotel Cheyenne and Davy Crockett's Ranch. I would of course love to stay in the Disneyland Hotel in the Sleeping Beauty Suite.

3- What is your favourite restaurant?

I don't think I've eaten at a sit down restaurant in the parks just in the Village but it's a tie between Annette's Diner and The Rainforest Cafe for me.

4- A restaurant you'd like to eat in that you haven't yet?

I'd Love to eat at the Blue Lagoon and sit near the ride as it is one of my Favourite rides in the park.

5- Your favourite quick service/fast food?

In the park it would be Hakuna Matata and in the Village it would be New York Style Sandwiches.

6- What is your favourite shop?

The Christmas Shop in the Castle. Last year was my first holiday in over 10 years so I decide to go to Disneyland Paris and I loved this Shop as it was July when I went and I love Christmas like a ridiculous amount so it was just perfect.

7- Your favourite season or event?

I don't think I've ever been for an event/season and I can't really remember ones that happened when I was a kid but I would love to go for Halloween and around Christmas time.

8- Disneyland Paris or Walt Disney Studios?

Disneyland Paris

9- Your favourite ride in each park?

Studios it has to be Hotel Tower of Terror and in the main park it's a tie between Pirates of the Caribbean (how it is now without Jack Sparrow) and The Phantom Manor.

10- Your favourite land in the Disneyland Park?

Frontierland I love the whole background story of the area with Big Thunder Mountain and The Phantom Manor.

11- Your favourite character meet?

Winnie the Pooh and Friends just cause Winnie is my bae

12- Your best character meet and greet experience?

I really enjoyed meeting Mickey Mouse last year with my sister and he came out and gave use and kiss and hug and lead us into his photo room the little cutie that he is.

13- Your happiest or best Disneyland Paris memory?

All My Disneyland Paris mermories are happy ones and the best but I remember one year my uncle came with use and it was his birthday so my mum told the restaurant (think it was the one in Cheyenne) and the whole resturant sang and this band came round and my uncle point at my brother and was like it's his birthday so that year my brother had two birthday and the cake was amazing that they had made it was a 3D castle and it was also the trip I got a Winnie The Pooh Hat (my favourite thing ever).

I had to add one more.

14. One Show/event you miss?

This one is easy for me and due to it's new refurb as Arendelle (which upset me I get Frozen has raked in the cash and keeps doing so but there are so many other Disney Films that are amazing) and it's nice to see them using that area again as it has been shut for so long but I remember The Mulan Show, Tarzan show and at one point I'm pretty sure they just had a Cowboy stunt show (it had a story to it but it was mainly them falling off roof I remember) and They were all amazing and stick out in my Disney memory as they had amazing acrobatics. My parent probably picked to go do it as it was somewhere to sit in the shade and take 5. But i loved them shows and that's why I had to add this question in.

So There is my answers to The Disneyland Paris Tag Created by Ellie Steadman and one Special one added by me.

So Why don't you give it ago and answer the questions.

The Perfect Hollywood Red Lips

The Perfect Hollywood Red Lips

So My most used and liked makeup look is without a doubt a red lip especially for Winter/Christmas, so I thought I would tell you my tips to get the perfect pout as well as red lipsticks for all budgets.

So to start you need to use a lip scrub and balm regularly I use nivea lip balm (I prefer lip balm that are in a lipstick packaging then a pot) and Lush lip scrub (which ever scent you like I have Bubblegum and Popcorn) in winter cracked lips can happen more often especially if you get a cold so regularly using a scrub and balm will help keep them at bay as well as keeping you pout ready.

I have picked Red lipsticks that I have used and own, I've done swatches and done my own test of staying power (kiss my arm three times). So you can be confident that I'm not just going on price of the lipstick but it's staying power.

First tip though is use a lip liner all over your lip as well as the outside as this will help any lipstick stay on a little longer then it usually does (for the test I just used the lipsticks without liner). Another way to keep lipstick on is to use Lipcote (£3.69) just be careful not to lick you lips as it's not the best tasting product but does help all lipsticks stay.

The Lip Liner I use is the Max Factor Colour Elixir Lip Liner in 10 Red Rush (£4.99)

The Lips Sticks.

1. Sleek True Colour - Vixen (£4.99)

2. L'Oreal Paris Color Riche - Liya's Pure Red (£6.99)

3. Gosh Velvet Touch - 60 Lambada (£6.99)

4. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter - Candy Apple (£7.99)

5. L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Extraordinaire - 304 Ruby Opera (£8.99)

6. Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet - 03 Hot Pepper (£8.99)

7. Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet - 01 Personne Ne Rouge (£8.99)

8. The Body Shop True Colours - 115 Enraptured Red (£10.00)

9. Lush - Decisive (£14.50)

10. MAC Mattene Lipstick - Eden Rouge (£17.50)

11. Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture - 01 (£26.00)

This Picture is here to show my lips normally and my teeth to show whether the red lipstick makes my teeth look whiter. (excuse my smile it's not the best and I'll let you decide whether it makes me teeth look whiter.)

 1 - 4

1. Sleek
Sleek is The Cheapest out of all the Lipsticks I tested it went on nicely but after my staying power test it was barely there. So although it was the cheapest it wasn't the best and I've used  Barry M's Red and it works better then this and is slightly cheaper, although i haven't tested due to I can't find it in my makeup box I did use the Barry M's red for a very long time.

2. L'Oreal Liya's red

This went on nicely just like sleek but kinda of had the same effect in that is was barely there in the end it also had more of a matte finish then a satin finish compared to the sleek.

3. Gosh
It went on really well and was really shiny, after the staying power test only some had come off but it lost a lot of it's shine which was why you notice a big difference.

4. Revlon
This went on nicely but it wasn't as red as the others to start with, very shiny though after the test it was barely there and ended like a light lip stain then lipstick.

5 - 8

5. L'Oreal
This is more of a lip gloss then stick but this stayed better then the revlon lipstick although lip gloss annoys me when it's windy and with having long hair not the best combo in the world it stayed better so I would use it properly during a day then on a night.

6. Bourjois Rouge - Hot Pepper

This Goes on nicely the product doesn't smell the nicest which is the only bad point and it didn't fade too bad in the test this is also a matte finish lipstick.

7.  Bourjois - Personne Ne Rouge

Same as the one above as it's the same product but I like the colour of this red a little better then the hot pepper one.

8. The Body Shop

This has a nice finish and went on nicely. After the test it was still there evenly all over and not patchy like some of the cheaper lipsticks.

9 - 11

9. Lush

Goes on really well I really like the colour and finish it's not super shiny or super matte it's just right and after the test it doesn't look like it's change which is amazing and a result.

10. Mac

Goes on nicely stays on well but I would say not as well as the Lush Lipstick and because it is cheaper i would go for Lush over Mac.

11. Yves Saint Laurent

This is my personal favourite but after using the Lush Lipstick that's a strong second, it goes on really well and it doesn't fade to much I wore this the rest of the night (5-6 hours after this photo) without reapplying and it was still very red but had just lost a bit of it's shine/satin finish.

So there is all my thoughts, My Favourite has To be the Yves Saint Laurent Closely Followed by Lush. I've had my Yves Saint Laurent since the beginning of this year and for a while I knew I wanted an expensive Red Lipstick as it's my favourite Staple Look. I've used this lipstick when I've been out and not really need to top it up but after properly testing them all, my winners are The Yves Saint Laurent and Lush. For me Spending a little more goes so much further with certain makeup things and my least favourite has to be the Revlon Lip Butter in Candy apple it wasn't as red as the others and didn't stay at all.

So Which Are Your Favourite and Which one do you think made me teeth whiter?

Hope this is Helpful and gets you The Hollywood Red lips you Desire as well as some tips to keep your lips soft.
