November Favourites

November Favourites

DVD

Me before you

I read the book after I watched it and of course I wish there were bits that they added but they did a really good job and I love it, really enjoyed it yes I shed a tear or two but it's nice to see a film that has a different typical ending which I like as not everything ends happy in real life. Also just finished the sequel After you book and I really enjoyed that and the way Jojo went with this sequel and can't wait to see if she writes another and if it will make the big screen.

The Boss

I love Melissa McCarthy and so far I love watching all the films she's been in and this one is no different. It's funny, a little bit silly but it made me laugh and I really enjoyed it. It's a nice light easy film to watch perfect for a cosy night in.

Beauty and Skincare

Zoella Hungry Hands

This hand creams smells amazing like Christmas goodness in a tube. It sinks it really quickly so you don't have to wait long to do stuff. Love the rose gold packaging, the smell is quiet intense if you smell it straight from the tub but once rubbed it it's nice and sweet gingerbread scent. It's also a good price and a great stocking filler for Christmas.

The Body Shop Matte Lip Liquid in Nairobi Camellia 034 & Tahiti Hibiscus 016

Love These colour 016 is a pinky red colour and 034 is a pretty soft pink they go on really well and take a couple of minutes to dry completely then have to reapply after eating as it fades slightly. I like the packaging for them they're a good price at £6 each, both good winter shades and they smell really good they have a sweet subtle scent.

NYX Professional Makeup Lip Lingerie Lipstick in Ruffle Trim

I love this nude shade, it's easy to apply and I really like this nude range that NYX have done, wanting some more the only thing I will say is it doesn't looked the same on you as in the pot it's more of a subtle pink/coral nude colour. Also have to reapply as it doesn't stay if eating and drinking.

Everything else

Yankee Candle in Christmas Eve

This is my favourite festive candle/scent love it. I wish it'd would come in a spray as I'd probably wear it, I have the small and medium jar, a small pillar, one votive, a packet of tealights and a wax welt which I have been using since October. So just a few candles of Christmas eve and when it get to January I stock up in the sales.

New Look Leopard print Boots with Gold Detailing

I've wanted Leopard print boots for a while but trying to find a wide fit size 9 isn't the easiest thing but then New Look shined down on me and had this beautiful boots with gold detailing on the heel. I've been wearing them with a simple outfit and used my boots to jazz it up love them.

Hair Bows from Little Sparkle Boutique

I have four bows from Little sparkle Boutique Etsy shop which I found when I was looking for just a large red glitter bow and I found one which came in a set of the red glitter bow and a white and gold glitter bow too which are perfect for Christmas a week later I bought a Mustard wool bow and a Tartan and black glitter bow I had this on made especially as it was only as a medium bow but messaged Jade and she helped me get it in large, they are all so pretty and perfect for Autumn/Winter and Christmas to add a little sparkle to your outfit. I'm eyeing up the rose gold bow as my next purchase.
Little sparkle Boutique Shop
Red and White/Gold Bow
Mustard Bow
Tartan Bow (in Medium)

Accessorize Glitter Purse

I bought this after I go a £5 gift card for spending a certain amount and I decided to put it towards this I'd seen it online and it was in my local shop so it was meant to be it's beautiful it's a mixture of gold and rose gold glitter and it's not how you'd think it'd feel as it's smooth which I really like as you won't lose the glitter and end up with a bald purse in the end. It has enough slots for cards and a zip section for coins I've been using this as my going out purse and it's perfect as well as adding extra glitz and sparkle.

There are my November Favourites and so soon starts the countdown to Christmas which includes alot of work for me.

October Favourites

October Favourites

Cinema

Bridget Jones Baby

I Really enjoyed this film, very much like the previous two it's an great addition to the franchise, it's funny, had all the bridgetisms that you wanted and keeps you guessing as to who the dad is. I hope they do another because I want to see Daniel Cleaver in it. Also I love Bridget and we all have Bridget moments.

DVD

Alice Through the Looking Glass

I love this sequel it's perfect and has great additional characters like time and I love see Sacha Boren Cohen in a different way other then a comedy lead and he does a great job.

Bad Neighbours 2

I bought this hoping it'd be the same level as the first one it was okay it is very similar to the first, watchable but very predictable I guessed the ending when I was half way through it. I like the nods to the first it was a good film but it wasn't a great one.

Beauty and Skincare

Nails Inc: Cuticle Oil - Avocado Oil and Sweet Almond Oil

I bought this as I ran out of my Peggy Sage cuticle oil as with having acrylic nails it's important to use cuticle oil as it helps your natural nails underneath so I picked this up when I was in boots it was a tad on the pricey side as it was £10 but I spent my points on it also it smells amazing, it's the best smelling cuticle oil ever.

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Kitten Heels

Since Boots have Stocked NYX products I can't get enough and this is no exception I have another colours in this lipstick but this is the perfect red colour, it applies really well and stays well. Perfect for Autumn/Winter

Sleek Boots Christmas Gift Set Say The Magic Word includes Matte Me Lip Gloss Mini's In Old Hollywood, Birthday Suit, Rioja Red and Velvet Slipper.

This is a great Christmas Gift Set and it's only £5 perfect stocking filler or secret santa gift, it's also a nice way to try out the sleek matte me lip cream as they are miniatures and perfect for a night out to pop in your bag and you get four shades, I already have the Birthday Suit Shade and I really like it so having a mini version means I can take it anywhere I love Old Hollywood its a nice autumn/winter red as it's nice and deep but I think it's a great collection of colours and I'll use them all.

Niko Professional Makeup Brushes
I bought these in Tk maxx and I have been eyeing them up online for a while and they were on my Christmas  so when I saw them I had to buy them they are the best brushes for foundation and contour. So happy I bought them make it so much easy to apply contour.

Contour Cosmetics Rocks

This were also on my Christmas List and once again TK maxx had them in and for £13 so Bargain so shimmery and pigmented another product I love and is in my makeup bag always now.

Everything Else

Accessorize Saddle Bag

I love the colour of this bag and the gold detailing perfect for Autumn it's a good sized small bag it has a zip pouch inside then the main compartment you can also change the strap if you want too which I like as it means next year to make it knew I can add a new strap to it.

Rose Gold Light up Mirror

I bought this from Wilkinson for £10 it's part of there Christmas Gifting section and comes with the battery's it needs which is really helpful. I've wanted a light up mirror for a while so when I saw this one and it was rose gold I had to have it going to make putting my face on easier.

Case Logic Dual USB Power Bank From TK maxx in Gold

I bought two of these on in gold and one in pink and it the best purchase I've made I keep one in my bag when I go out  and it fully charges my phone, it's not massive or heavy so it's not an effort to have it in my bag and it does the job. I go two so one can always be in my bag and the other can be charging.

Pom Pom Shoe Clips From Accessorize

I love Pom Poms, I have earring, gloves, hair bobbles, heels and many more pom pom items the list goes on, so when I found these I thought this was the best invention ever and only £5 which I was really impressed with. I think the only think accessorize have to do now is bring them out it other colours.

And there is my October Favourites. I love this time of year and I can't wait for Christmas yes I'm a big kid.

Rock N Rose

Rock N Rose

Now Rock N Rose have been in my life since 2008 when it all started with a scrabble necklace, ring and a lego ring I then expanded to floral crowns all 10 of them to necklaces, rings and floral head bands and it's now that I'm doing a blog post I realise how much I have  collected over the years.

Rock N Rose is all about Girl Power, Strong Women and Sisterly Love that make Killer Floral Crowns and Jewellery that are too die for. I especailly refer to the pom pom earrings (I'm still wishing they'll do them in grey, baby pink and baby blue one day fingers crossed)

This is the Evolution of my Rock N Rose Collection.

So My collection started with a scrabble necklace and ring with also a lego ring. Then I won a Key Necklace from there Facebook Page ROCK 'N ROSE I then bought a wish bracelet and when it fell off your wish came true, then was my first Floral crown for my 16th Birthday which came with a free bracelet due to it being late.

Then the Kora Inverted Cross Necklace and the Faith oversized earring then I purchase my 9 exclusive flower crowns, Then from two christmas ago My Brother Bought me two Floral Head bands and a necklace from Pixie Lott's collection.

Last year around Halloween Rock N Rose had a £1 ring so I had to buy it also I bought a Midi ring to get free postage, then came the arrow ring and the last thing I have bought from them this year is my beloved Black Pom Pom earrings and I seriously need them in more colours.

The Rings

The Necklaces

The Crowns

The Earrings

All the girls that work there are so nice and will answer any question you have or problem that needs solving and all their items/products are so well made and I've never had a problem with them.

I feel like I've seen them grow because their style of jewellery has changed so much since I first found them in the best way possible with what they use to make them and design. I can't wait to buy more Pom Pom earrings in beautiful colours and look sassy as hell yes I mention them Tons but they are definitly my favourite piece of jewellery I own from them.

Bonfire Night

Bonfire Night

Remember Remember the 5th of November.

Bonfire Night is a typically British thing as it's all about Guy Fawkes who tried to blow up The houses of parliament with gunpowder but failed. He's like the British original villain and so in tradition we build a bonfire and make a Guy Fawkes and put him on the fire and set of fireworks in his fail attempt of treason... I've never released how sinister it actually sounds until now. But the night also includes of Hot dogs, Burgers, Toffee apples
and of course wrapping up warm and cosy while watching fireworks.

Now their is a couple of things that happen here in Towns/Villages normally they have a public bonfire and firework display and have fair rides etc. or you can purchase your own fireworks, build your own bonfire and have your own bonfire party at home. As a kid I'd either be a Family gathering or Close Family Friends or both whether it be at my home or my Granma's etc. As a kid I loved Bonfire Night getting wrapped up and watching the Fireworks while eating Hot Dogs but now that I have a dog who isn't the biggest fan on them (although when he was a pup he used to be inside with us as we watched the fireworks going of in the garden) so I usually spend it with him on my bed with the TV on and the windows shut to try and keep the sound out but as a kid I loved it. So here are some of my tips for Bonfire night.

Wrap up warm.

Now it's November the average temperature during the day is 10 degree's so at night this drop by at least half so wrapping up warm is a must even if you get to hot, that is better then being freezing cold. One year I decide to wear a skirt with leggings and I freezing and this was when I at a public bonfire so i couldn't just pop home to get warm so from now on jeans, trousers, jumpers galore and if your like me and you like to be girly just add a statement necklace or some earrings.
So Hats or Ear muffs, Scarf or a Snood, Coats, gloves and jumpers are essential to wear. My Favourite place to buy my Autumn Accessories has to be Accessorize yes there a little bit price but it is such good quality.

Some food tips

I think Bonfire night is the last time you will use the BBQ till next summer so traditional BBQ foods Burgers, Hotdogs, Baked Potatoes (whether is a normal jacket potato or you scoop the inside out and mix it with delicous cheese, bacon etc whatever you wanna add to it then recook it) Marshmallows, Chocolate Banana's with marshmallows (on the BBQ), Toffee apples, rustic chips, Cookies, Cakes, Buns etc etc etc the list goes on. why not cook your family favourite whether it's Chilli Con Carne but serve with the rustic chips instead of rice. I think one thing to use though is paper plates/bowls because if your gonna have to wash the pan/trays you've used and if you have 20 people around that is too many plates so just get the paper ones out then it doesn't really matter.  Another Idea is instead of buying Toffee apples buy normal apples cut them into pieces and dip them into toffee, chocolate, caramel whatever you fancy and have them instead of a whole toffee apple.

Drinks

Now Adults will most likely be wanting Alcohol and I recommend Brother's Toffee Apple Cider I love this drink anyway but it is pretty perfect for Bonfire night. Another Drink to have is Mulled Cider a nice warm alcohol drink I use the Jamie Oliver's recipe Mulled Cider Recipe if you like sweet drinks you'll love both of them. A drink for kids and big kids a like is the Ultimate Hot Chocolate Which for me is Aero Hot Chocolate, touch of milk, big marshmallows in the Hot Chocolate then squirty cream on top then little marshmallows on top it is heavenly and the marshmallows in the hot chocolate go all gooey, this is probably a heart attack in a cup but by god it's good.

Now because Bonfire night this year is during a Half Term they'll properly start on Bonfire night and finish on Sunday I think as usually it's during school terms so it's normally all at the weekend instead so you get one more night of it butting knowing my area they will go on what feels like forever. Having a Dog has made it feel like forever as he hates it and doesn't settle all night and he looks at you like help me.

But Whether you are having a party going to a public Bonfire or simply having a cosy night in enjoy yourself and stay safe and don't do anything stupid.

I'm so excited to start writing Christmas blog posts so look forward to them. evieeviolet

This is Halloween

This is Halloween Pumpkins scream in the Dead of Night.

So it's nearly Halloween and although I don't like horror films or anything horror really, I do love the cuteness of Halloween, the decorators, fancy dress, treats and Halloween Films aimed at kids. I'm also properly one of the only people to never have a pumpkin spice latte or pumpkin flavoured anything, I know which rock have I been hiding under but I do not want to buy one to then not like it. (as it'll just be a waste I'll just stick to my Hot Chocolates with Whipped Cream YUM)

As a child I hardly ever went trick or treating as my parents see it as begging and do not agree with it but instead we used to go to Halloween Parties or throw one and this was until I was like 11 and then I'd either go stay at friends and watch films and eat sweets or Chill at home with the family. So if you do not agree with it like my parents throw a party for your friends and family (everyone loves a party and with bobbing apples who would not wanna go)

So here are some films that I love that are perfect for a Halloween night in.

Films

My Favourite thing about the whole Autumn/Winter season is that I love to get cosy and watch a good film.

So some of my favourite Halloween films are The Nightmare Before Christmas (which is also one of my favourite films ever and also a Christmas eve tradition), Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, Casper, Haunted Mansion, Harry Potter (this can be watched all year of course but wizards and witches are very much a Halloween thing and in the Philosophers Stone there even have Halloween which looks amazing), Dracula Untold, Hotel Transylvania, The Mummy and of course The Rocky Horror Picture Show (I've seen this in theater for my 19th birthday it was a gift from my best friend and we loved it and planning to go next year when it's back it's been to long)

The only other film i would watch would be The uninvited which is a psychological horror film which I went to go see on my 15th birthday and it's the only horror type film I can watch but it still freaks me out but because it has a twist at the end and you back track through the film makes it more interesting for me.
So grab a Hot Drink (mine would be a killer Hot Chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows yum), some chocolate, a blanket, dim the lights or put some fairy lights on, get comfy and put on your favourite Halloween film whether it be Horror or not.

I also think this is the thing to do on Halloween night if you have small children make it family night. As they do not really have an idea about the whole Trick or Treat ins or outs and stick on Hocus Pocus cause I put a spell on you.

So here are some few things I love and also so cute ideas for parties for you to throw.

Decorations

Now If you decide to throw a party the best place to look for ideas is Pinterest, they have everything from spooky themes for adults/teenagers, Cute for kids or even classy for whoever wants a more adult affair at Halloween. A lot of the kids decorations can be done with the kids so get them involved with the making and decorating and probably make it a tradition as memories that cost nothing or very little will be the ones they remember the most and will want to recreate whenever they have children of their own.
Pinterest is also a great place to look for treat ideas or even drink and food ideas. Also buying Pumpkins and drawing a design whether it be the kids or yourself draws the design but if the kids draw get an adult to cut it out.

Treats

Whether you are buying sweets or making cookies/cakes etc (if you make them once again the kids can get involved) Ghost, Pumpkin Spider, Cobwebs. Witches, Mummys, Black Cats, Skeletons, there are many things you can make into cookie shapes or decorate on top of cupcakes or cakes. Or just simply let the kids have fun and decorate how ever they like. My favourite thing I've seen on Pinterest is this chocolate made bowl (made to look like a pumpkin) that you can add your own sweets and it looks super cute these could be used instead of party bags and just place them in a clear bag. Pumpkin Bowls

Fancy Dress

Now Halloween is known for being able to dress as scary as you'd like or another way according to Mean Girls 'I'm a mouse Durr' And I definetly think the year of using bin bags and bed sheets have gone unless your under ten then go for it I mean there is no point in spending money on an outfit they are going to wear once, so get the bin bags (for witches) bed sheets (for Ghost) and have fun. If I was to go out and do fancy dress I would most likely be Disney Princess of some sort (most likely Ariel she's my favourite and I already have the hair even if you just Disney Bound as the person you still dressed as the person but properly in more comfortable and warm) but just remember dress however the heck you like whether it's scary or just normal fancy dress it doesn't really matter as long as you have fun what else matters.

Games

Their is the classic like bobbing apples, pin the tail on the black cat, etc etc but as long as everyone is up for fun play some of your family favourites but put a Halloween spin on it. A game you can play that I love is called 'Don't Show Keith your Teeth' yes this is from the Celebrity juice and can be very tongue and cheek but this game is very simple in one person 'Keith' picks the subject then whoever plays can't show their teeth, laugh or repeat an answer that has already been given simple enough right? pretty much (but trust me it's harder than you think and funnier I played this with my family last Christmas and it was hilarious and I lost every time although I wasn't always the first out I just didn't win but it is such a fun game to play)

So one of my Family's Favourite game that is really inexpensive is the Mummy game and we would play this on Birthdays, Halloween, Christmas any party really but it's perfect for Halloween. For this game you need to be in pairs and all you need is toilet rolls and you have a set time and one person is the 'Mummy' and the other is the one dressing the 'Mummy' and whoever has the best/perfect Mummy Wins. Cheap Family fun at it's best and we always loved playing it, and would play it multiply times at parties and we even did a parents round because everyone is competitive to get the perfect Mummy and it creates a lot of laughs from just loo roll (toilet paper) who knew?

So enjoy Halloween Whether you are Trick or Treating or Having a Halloween House party or a cosy night in. Enjoy it but Don't forget, Don't Light the Black Flame Candle on all Hallows Eve.

October Favourites

October Favourites

So October has come to an end and for me it's definitely the start of Christmas Shopping and songs but before all that starts here are my favourites for the month of October .

Cinema

Pan

This Films is okay I had high hopes for it and there is a lot they could of done to make it a lot better like it's an okay story about Peter Pan before he was Peter Pan but things that would of made it slightly better would of been having 3 different mermaids not just them all with the same face and James Hook questionable accent and the fight scene at the end needed to be a bit more amazing, they could of done so much more with it and its a shame they didn't.

DVD

Now For DVD's the only one I have purchase is Jurassic World but seen as I've already had this in a favourites for Cinema I won't repeat myself.

TV

Now this is the first time I've added TV to my monthly favourites but I had to for this one show which is Ru Paul's Drag Race now TRU TV started on series 4 and is now on 5 and I couldn't wait so I got netflix so I could watch the other previous series and the end of 5 and I have been hooked I love it. My favourite Queens are definitely the comedy Queens and I love how different they look from drag and how they transform themselves and the whole super bitchyness of the whole thing. I only have love for Mumma Ru and I hope many more are made so i can get my fix I love it.

Beauty/Skincare

Nail polishes

I own Gelish and have been using it for a while but I've given my nails a break for a while so here are some of the colours I have been loving they are:

Essie's: Dress to Kilt and Parka Perfect.
Revlon's: Autumn Spice and Beachy
CND's Vinylux's: Pretty Poison
Barry M's:Chai

These are the perfect Autumn/Winter Colours and I've been loving them the only thing with nail polish chips after a day so having to put a top coat of Gelish to give it staying power is the way forward.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil

This is maybe my favourite night time product I have used. I have a dry patch on my forehead (who knows why?) but this really helps it and sometimes I use this on a sunday when i'm not going anywhere wearing new p jay's and a top knot after using a mask. Now it is a serum so it feels oily on your skin to start with but once you wake the next day it's gone and you are left with soft skin.

Camomile Waterproof Eye and Lip Makeup Remover

This is my favourite makeup remover I have used and I've tried a few but they never seem to take all my eye makeup off (and I use waterproof mascara) but this products take it of perfectly and it is nice and doesn't irritate my eyes. This also takes of my favourite long wear red lipstick off which is stubborn and I've already been repurchasing this a couple of times and I will continue doing so.

Fashion

SimplyBe - Sprinkle of Glitter - Netted Skirt.

I won this Skirt on Twitter but I had be eyeing it up since it went online and had seen it in the shop but they didn't have my size so I was gutted. But this skirt is beautiful and I feel like a Princess in it and the fact that it was POCKETS is amazing, I mean amazingggg like thank you Louise for thou has given me pockets in a skirt it's a miracle and you can't tell they're there or if they have stuff in them and it has rose gold detailing which I Love.

Everything Else

Colgate Max White One Toothpaste and Mouthwash

I've been using this toothpaste and mouthwash for about a month and I say I see a difference they aren't quiet Simon Cowell teeth but they are better then what they were and getting some sort of pearl whites which is fine with me.

Fujifilm Instax Share SP-1 Smart Printer

I bought this early this year with the Instax Camera as well and having the printer makes thing so much easier as all you have to do it use your phone, so you take pictures on your phone normally then when you get home just print them of through the app and of course you need to buy 'shots' but you'd need to pay to get photo's printed out anyway. I think these are also a great little memory to keep as there a perfect size. I keep mine so far pegged on string on my old notice board I've covered and I'll be getting more put up on my Picture wall.

App - Tsum Tsum

I've become a little bit obsessed with this App and because it's the month of Halloween they got a treat for every day you login for 12 days and have done an limited edition Minne and Mickey Tsum Tsum. I'm on Level 26 and I can't stop playing it.

So that is what I have being loving this October and now the start of Christmas scent  are beginning to be used so I'm sure they'll feature in a favourites soon.
