This is Halloween

This is Halloween Pumpkins scream in the Dead of Night.

So it's nearly Halloween and although I don't like horror films or anything horror really, I do love the cuteness of Halloween, the decorators, fancy dress, treats and Halloween Films aimed at kids. I'm also properly one of the only people to never have a pumpkin spice latte or pumpkin flavoured anything, I know which rock have I been hiding under but I do not want to buy one to then not like it. (as it'll just be a waste I'll just stick to my Hot Chocolates with Whipped Cream YUM)

As a child I hardly ever went trick or treating as my parents see it as begging and do not agree with it but instead we used to go to Halloween Parties or throw one and this was until I was like 11 and then I'd either go stay at friends and watch films and eat sweets or Chill at home with the family. So if you do not agree with it like my parents throw a party for your friends and family (everyone loves a party and with bobbing apples who would not wanna go)

So here are some films that I love that are perfect for a Halloween night in.

Films

My Favourite thing about the whole Autumn/Winter season is that I love to get cosy and watch a good film.

So some of my favourite Halloween films are The Nightmare Before Christmas (which is also one of my favourite films ever and also a Christmas eve tradition), Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, Casper, Haunted Mansion, Harry Potter (this can be watched all year of course but wizards and witches are very much a Halloween thing and in the Philosophers Stone there even have Halloween which looks amazing), Dracula Untold, Hotel Transylvania, The Mummy and of course The Rocky Horror Picture Show (I've seen this in theater for my 19th birthday it was a gift from my best friend and we loved it and planning to go next year when it's back it's been to long)

The only other film i would watch would be The uninvited which is a psychological horror film which I went to go see on my 15th birthday and it's the only horror type film I can watch but it still freaks me out but because it has a twist at the end and you back track through the film makes it more interesting for me.
So grab a Hot Drink (mine would be a killer Hot Chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows yum), some chocolate, a blanket, dim the lights or put some fairy lights on, get comfy and put on your favourite Halloween film whether it be Horror or not.

I also think this is the thing to do on Halloween night if you have small children make it family night. As they do not really have an idea about the whole Trick or Treat ins or outs and stick on Hocus Pocus cause I put a spell on you.

So here are some few things I love and also so cute ideas for parties for you to throw.

Decorations

Now If you decide to throw a party the best place to look for ideas is Pinterest, they have everything from spooky themes for adults/teenagers, Cute for kids or even classy for whoever wants a more adult affair at Halloween. A lot of the kids decorations can be done with the kids so get them involved with the making and decorating and probably make it a tradition as memories that cost nothing or very little will be the ones they remember the most and will want to recreate whenever they have children of their own.
Pinterest is also a great place to look for treat ideas or even drink and food ideas. Also buying Pumpkins and drawing a design whether it be the kids or yourself draws the design but if the kids draw get an adult to cut it out.

Treats

Whether you are buying sweets or making cookies/cakes etc (if you make them once again the kids can get involved) Ghost, Pumpkin Spider, Cobwebs. Witches, Mummys, Black Cats, Skeletons, there are many things you can make into cookie shapes or decorate on top of cupcakes or cakes. Or just simply let the kids have fun and decorate how ever they like. My favourite thing I've seen on Pinterest is this chocolate made bowl (made to look like a pumpkin) that you can add your own sweets and it looks super cute these could be used instead of party bags and just place them in a clear bag. Pumpkin Bowls

Fancy Dress

Now Halloween is known for being able to dress as scary as you'd like or another way according to Mean Girls 'I'm a mouse Durr' And I definetly think the year of using bin bags and bed sheets have gone unless your under ten then go for it I mean there is no point in spending money on an outfit they are going to wear once, so get the bin bags (for witches) bed sheets (for Ghost) and have fun. If I was to go out and do fancy dress I would most likely be Disney Princess of some sort (most likely Ariel she's my favourite and I already have the hair even if you just Disney Bound as the person you still dressed as the person but properly in more comfortable and warm) but just remember dress however the heck you like whether it's scary or just normal fancy dress it doesn't really matter as long as you have fun what else matters.

Games

Their is the classic like bobbing apples, pin the tail on the black cat, etc etc but as long as everyone is up for fun play some of your family favourites but put a Halloween spin on it. A game you can play that I love is called 'Don't Show Keith your Teeth' yes this is from the Celebrity juice and can be very tongue and cheek but this game is very simple in one person 'Keith' picks the subject then whoever plays can't show their teeth, laugh or repeat an answer that has already been given simple enough right? pretty much (but trust me it's harder than you think and funnier I played this with my family last Christmas and it was hilarious and I lost every time although I wasn't always the first out I just didn't win but it is such a fun game to play)

So one of my Family's Favourite game that is really inexpensive is the Mummy game and we would play this on Birthdays, Halloween, Christmas any party really but it's perfect for Halloween. For this game you need to be in pairs and all you need is toilet rolls and you have a set time and one person is the 'Mummy' and the other is the one dressing the 'Mummy' and whoever has the best/perfect Mummy Wins. Cheap Family fun at it's best and we always loved playing it, and would play it multiply times at parties and we even did a parents round because everyone is competitive to get the perfect Mummy and it creates a lot of laughs from just loo roll (toilet paper) who knew?

So enjoy Halloween Whether you are Trick or Treating or Having a Halloween House party or a cosy night in. Enjoy it but Don't forget, Don't Light the Black Flame Candle on all Hallows Eve.
